     Ryan Lynn-Harker, 35, of Peoria, passed away at 4 p.m. on Thursday, January 1, 2015, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
     Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, January 5, 2015, at Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue, in Peoria. A private interment, with Military Honors by the InterVeterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County, will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.
     Ryan was born on December 26, 1979, the son of Michael Harker and Dorothy Lynn. His father preceded him in death.
     He is survived by his mother, of Peoria; daughter, Beverly Harker of Manito; sons, Philip and James Harker of Manito; brothers, William (Tina Schierer) Wagley of East Peoria and Michael Wagley of Peoria; sister, Sara Gresham Graham of Iowa; aunts, Jennie Ice and Carol (Larry) McKinney, all of Peoria; companion, Sarah Godsey of Peoria; and several nephews and cousins.
     In 2006, Ryan enlisted in the National Guard and served at Ft. Bragg, NC, before being transferred to Afghanistan. He returned home from the war in 2010 and earned the Army Commendation Medal for Operation Enduring Freedom. He was dedicated to the military.
     He was employed as a Supervisor with Vonachen Services in Peoria. He had a deep love for music and enjoyed traveling to see concerts. He always had a smile that was contagious. He loved being around children and children loved being around him. In his heart, he cared for all things, including dogs, reptiles and many other species.
     Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.

My condolences, as feelings of pain and bitterness become unbearable. It is my desire to convey a comforting thought based on the Holy Scriptures

          

  John 5:28 "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out."

 

 

This passage speaks of the resurrection of our loved ones. It is not God's plan to see us suffer and die, so He extends the following invitation to us: "Come near to God and He will draw near to you" (James 4:8)

Our 3 children are saddened by his loss as am I, he will be with us forever. He served from 2006 to 2009 and did basic training in fort benning Georgia but he was stationed out of Bartonville Illinois with the 1-178
